This was designed to evaluate the operation and performance of the Vishay VOM1271 optically isolated MOSFET driver. A high voltage TrenchFET is placed as an isolated switch to complete the circuit and allow the rise and fall times of the gate drive to be evaluated. This can be used as a simple relay with 3750V of isolation between the input and the switched output.

DESIGN NOTES
The VOM1271 has a notable rise and fall time, and can source a limited amount of current at the gate drive. Devices with a very high gate capacitance may switch slower than is acceptable leading to low efficiency as the FET transitions between states.
